Effective, algae-removing, and long-lasting clean!
Soft washing has several benefits, including keeping your property clean for a longer period of time than pressure washing alone. Soft washing uses a cleaning solution mixed with water and applied at gentle pressure to quickly and effectively remove organic matter such as algae, dirt, grime, and mold.
As you can see in this photo, there are dark streaks on the surface of the roof. That is Gloeocapsa magma. As this algae builds up from moisture that stays on the roof, it develops a dark, hardened outer coating that can cause your home to absorb more heat. The lighter areas on the roof are where the solution has already been applied.
How Our Soft Wash Solution Works
The main solution we use is a biodegradable algaecide that is the standard in the soft washing industry. It does most of the work in removing the algae and mold attached to the surfaces of your home. It is combined with water and a surfactant that reduces surface tension, so the solution sticks to the dirty surface and works to renew the exterior of the property.
This photo shows the roof after our solution has been applied to the entire surface and allowed to settle, effectively removing the algae.
Benefits of Soft Washing
- Removes algae: the solution eliminates algae rather than just pushing it around with pressure.
- No high pressure: no etching or damage to surfaces.
- Longer-lasting clean: algae takes longer to grow back compared with high-pressure washing, which can damage most roofs.
Surfaces We Can Soft Wash
The soft wash method can be used on many materials, including metal, clay or slate tiles, asphalt shingles, wood, concrete, stucco, vinyl, and plastic.
It works on many structures and flat surfaces, including roofs, patios, gazebos, driveways and walkways, fences, and house siding.
